Ingredients

  • 450 ml of whole milk

  • 150 ml of full-fat liquid cream

  • 160-180 g of Nutella

  • 30-40 g of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon’vanilla extract

  • 50 g of roasted hazelnuts coarsely crushed

  • 30-40 g of dark chocolate (70 %) cut into small pieces or nuggets

Directions

  • Preparing the hazelnuts
If you haven't already done so: lightly roast the hazelnuts in a frying pan (without fat) until golden and fragrant. Leave to cool, then crush them.
  • Base mix
Place the milk, cream, Nutella, sugar and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth and lump-free. If necessary, filter quickly to remove any lumps.
  • Adding songs
Add the chopped hazelnuts + chocolate pieces/chips to the mixture. Mix just enough to distribute them, without crushing the chocolate.
  • Pre-freezing
Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami Deluxe jar, spreading it evenly to ensure a uniform texture.
Place the pot minimum 24 hours in the freezer (according to the original recipe) to harden the mixture.
  • Turbiner / Creamer
Place the frozen preparation in the Gelato (or Ice) of Ninja Creami Deluxe, as indicated in the basic recipe.
  • Finishes
Right afterwards, if you want more crunch, you can sprinkle a few more roasted hazelnuts over the still-fresh ice cream. If you're using salt, a few grains on top will enhance the chocolate-hazelnut taste.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can replace the cream with whole milk mixed with Greek yoghurt, which gives a creamy texture with less fat.
  • If you prefer a plant-based alternative, opt for hazelnut, almond or soya milk combined with a plant-based cream and a vegan spread.
  • You can also add a fruity touch with ripe banana purée or a few raspberries, which go perfectly with chocolate hazelnut.
  • Finally, to intensify the chocolate flavor, don't hesitate to replace some of the Nutella with melted chocolate or unsweetened cocoa powder, for a fuller-bodied, less sweet ice cream.
