If you like rich, creamy, intensely chocolatey ice creams, this recipe is for you. Made with a base of custard, It offers an ultra-creamy texture and a deep dark chocolate taste. Thanks to Ninja Creami, The result is an ice-cream parlour, right at home.
Chocolate ice cream recipe

4 egg yolks
3 tsp. powdered sugar
200 ml of full-fat liquid cream
150 ml of whole milk
100 g of dark chocolate
Directions
- Mix yolks and sugar
In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the powdered sugar until light and fluffy. - Heat the cream and milk
Pour the liquid cream and whole milk into a saucepan and heat over a low heat without bringing to the boil. - Melt the chocolate
Add the chopped dark chocolate to the hot mixture and stir until completely melted and smooth. - Making the custard
Gradually pour the hot mixture over the sweetened egg yolks, whisking constantly. Return the mixture to the saucepan and thicken over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth. - Cooling and freezing
Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami, Let cool completely, then place in the freezer for a few minutes. 24 heures. - Turbine with Ninja Creami
Insert the jar into the machine and start the Ice Cream or Gelato. If necessary, perform a Re-spin for an even smoother, creamier texture.
Notes
- For an even more gourmet ice cream, add a pinch of fleur de sel or a few chocolate chips when re-spinning. You can also replace some of the dark chocolate with milk chocolate for a sweeter version.
