The main advantage is that you're sure to get a new product with the full manufacturer's warranty. The site also regularly features exclusive packs with several pots or recipe books included. I've seen a Christmas pack with the machine + 6 pots + a recipe book for 269€, which is quite attractive.
Visit Ninja customer service is directly contactable and knows his products inside out. If you have technical questions before you buy, or need help afterwards, this is clearly a plus. On the other hand, the delivery can take a little longer than Amazon, usually 5-7 days.
Which Ninja Creami to buy?
The NC300 base model: more than enough to get you started
Visit Ninja Creami NC300 is the entry-level model, and frankly, it already does the job very well. It offers 7 programs Ice cream, sorbet, gelato, milkshake, smoothie bowl, light ice cream and mix-in. More than enough for most uses.
I used it for 3 months before upgrading to Deluxe, and was never limited in my creations. The pot capacity (473 ml) is identical on all models. If your budget is tight or you simply want to test Creami technology without investing too much, the NC300 is the perfect choice at around 200€.
The NC500 Deluxe model: for enthusiasts
Visit Ninja Creami Deluxe NC500 costs about 50 more than the basic model, but it offers 12 programs instead of 7. Additional programs include: Italian ice, Creamiccino (frappuccino style), slushie, frozen yogurt, and frozen drink.
If you're someone who likes to experiment and try out lots of different recipes, these additional programs are well worth the investment. I particularly use the frozen yogurt program which gives a perfect texture, different from the classic ice cream program. The Creamiccino is also great for iced coffee lovers.
My advice: if you can afford it and plan to use the machine regularly, go straight to Deluxe. The price difference is minimal over the long term, and you won't be frustrated by missing out on certain features.
Essential accessories to buy at the same time
Extra pots: the smart buy
Don't make my mistake: don't just buy the machine. The Ninja Creami comes with 2 jars only, which is really limited for optimal use. I strongly recommend ordering at least 2 extra pots from the outset, ideally 4 extra pots for a total of 6 jars.
Why so many? Because each pot has to freeze 24 heures before blending. If you want to have several different flavors available during the week, you'll need to prepare several pots at the weekend. With 6 jars, you can have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, pistachio and lemon ready to mix on demand. That's really what makes all the difference.
Visit official Ninja pots cost about 15€ each or 25-30€ pack of 2. Amazon often offers packs of 4 jars for around 50€. Yes, it adds to the initial investment, but that's really what makes the Creami so practical for everyday use.
Beware of non-official compatible pots which can sometimes be found at lower prices. Some work very well, others not at all. Feedback has been very mixed, and as the seal must be perfectly watertight for mixing, I recommend sticking to the official Ninja pots to avoid unpleasant surprises.
The recipe book: not essential, but practical
